Life expectancy of streams

Since Roger is busy with the move I did a search and found his answer to this question for you.

Quote:
"It will all depend on care. If the pump was well cared for it should last a long time. You may need parts, a power surge could fry the driver. These are all possibilities. I would say it depends on the deal. The 6000 Series is the same technology as the 7000 Series which has been made in present form for 5 years and with an older design not much different for 10 years before that and you can still find these pumps working. My oldest 7410p is almost 6 years old and I have needed about $45 in parts to keep it going."

Thanks Brewboy. Yes, they should last a very long time if cared for and they strip down pretty far so most individual parts can be replaced at a lower cost if damaged.
