I have a 20g Nuvo reef and it's currently on a dresser and I'm going to buy a stand and replace the rock work that is covered in brown algea I can't seem to get rid of after 7 months, with life rock. The LFS told me that because of the bacteria that's already dominant inside I wouldn't have to cure or cycle it. Simply take the old rock out and put in the new aquascape with the life rock. I'm a little hesitant, I don't want to kill everything in my aquarium. I do plan on emptying my tank so I can move it onto the stand and reaquascaping since I'm unsatisfied at my first attempt and the massive brown algea that took it over. Started with white dry rock. Anyone have any experience with life rock? Also should I replace my sand? I think that's where the silicates may be coming from. I can't find any other reason for the brown algea. And believe me I've checked them all and I'm losing the battle. I've posted pics on here numerous times and never get any insight of what to do or what it is, so I'm just gonna start over with life rock and hope that's the end of it.
