life with mushroom corals!

I have a piece of gift rock given me with the mushroom. There's so much more life on this rock than I expected! Can someone help me know what these white tubular things with tiny long strings coming out are or direct me to a suitable thread,link or whatever. And crazy other question...how do corals produce wastes? gas form? Yeah, I know...lol

Vermetid snails (major pest) or Tube worms (harmless and add diversity)

Corals respire and put ammonia into the water, but also expel sugars which are consumed by microbes, which feed the neighboring corals.
