Randy, If I can recall correctly, I remember reading somwhere that acrylic absorbs a type of light, probalbly uv. Is this true?

Was wondering why, because I have acrylic lid and I beleive that corraline will not grow well because of my lid being acrylic. Possilbly its absorbing allot of uv light benificail to corraline?.

It seems to grow better in the sump(with no lid)!

Acrylic does absorb some UV. So does glass. I'm not sure where the types of glass and acylic used for aquaria usually absorb strongest. I don't believe that coralline needs UV to grow.
