I have the reefbreeders value fixture. ..timer for daylight and timer for actinic light. Right now im running daylight for 12hrs and cationic for 4 hours
i run the daylight lights from 630a-7p and the atinics from 5p-1030p
i'm growing diatoms like crazy and some type of green algae that looks like little balls. I'm wondering if my tank is looking bad because of the light schedule, i just started a cycle and i'm a first timer.
Your light schedule is too long. Cut back to no more than 12 hours. Have you blues come on first, then your whites. Reverse it at night with whites going out first, then blues.
Im curious as well. I have these leds, http://www.amazon.com/AQUAMANA-Spectrum-Moonlights-Aquarium-Moonlight/dp/B00KMHPAGA
I have been running the three 3-watt blue moonlights from 6am- 7:45 then the full spectrum lights (which include whites, blues, a couple red and couple green) from 7:45 to 8 pm. and then the moonlights again from 8pm to 10 pm.
Should I leave the moonlights on all day? should i shorten either the full spectrum period or the moonlight period or both?
