How many hours should I run my lights?

How long is a piece of string? a little more info please. What type of lights are we talking about what kind of lifestock do you have fish/reef and so on.

for my setups I run my daylight bulbs for about 7 hours and my actinics an additional hour before and after.

I also run the leds an hour before the actinics and 2 hours after.

when I was using compact flourescent bulbs I ran the daylight bulbs 8 hours and the actinics an hour extra each side again.

everyone has there opinion and it does depend on the coral selection and how much light on how big of a tank. on overpowered lighting could run less and underpowered more.
