Light timer? Which one...

My friend has a digital timer with 2 plugs on the back. He said he got it at Home Depot, but I have been unable to locate one. I went today and most all the timers were mechanical. There was one outdoor timer I almost bought, but it did not have a place for 2 plugs.

What kind of timer are you using, or would recommend? My lights are Tek 6 bulb T5.

Thanks,
Zack

I'd go with digital they will keep time better. I have found the mechanical ones lose time after a while. In my area both lowes and home depot carry them. Before I started usung a controller I used intermatic timers

I got a small digital (single plug) from HD for $6 I think. It keeps perfect time and has multiple on/off programming if you need it. Never seen a double plug version, but you could always add a three outlet splitter to it as long as you do not exceed the rated wattage for the timer.

Thanks! I will go back and check it out. My friend recommended I check out the x10 system. I am trying to read up on that and see how well it works...

I got a digital one, actually a couple of them, from Wal-Mart. I hate these. They seem to work for awhile, then they just start choosing their own schedule. I tried digging up a photo, but can find them.

I have a Coralife timer from Marine Depot, and that seems to be about the best I have so far.

I'd like to hear if there is anything else available that is also reliable.

i could find timers with more than one plug when i was at home depot this week. Just ended up buying a couple they are only like 6-7 bucks each.

You can also just plug a power strip into the timer. Again, make sure you don't exceed the power rating on the timer. :)

I purchase my timers at Lowes. The are outdoor electronic timers with two plugs for outlets. They run about $22 each.
