OK, well I got the hood done last weekend and went from 2 15 watt standard flourescents to 4 15 watt standards.
I do have a 400 watt MH in the garage with balast and base, etc but I am wanting to find a pendant to mount it in...
The series of pictures is before and after shots. The before shots are with 1 18,000k 15 watt and 1 6,500k 15 watt while the after pics are with 2 18,000k 15 watt and 2 Actinic 15 watt.
It works for what I currently have but eventually I want to either get a pendant for the MH and go topless or build a hood with a nice reflector for it...
These pictures were taken in pretty much identical conditions with the same camera settings. It gives you an idea of how much difference there is in the type of light but it does not show you how much brighter the light is than before.
