I know this is going pretty far out there, but I am looking to upgrade my biocube 29 gallon to metal halide lights and I was wondering if by chance there was anybody locally who happened to be getting rid of their lights or had some spare lights or knew any options of what I could do or knew any low priced options (I'm 17 working at the town center on minimum wage) any help would be so appreciate

I saw an add for a 70w DE MH setup in a reef mag with pc actinics. I think it was 129.00 I will see if I can find it for you

I would probably go at least 150w on a 29. My 24 had the 70w fixture on it. I upgraded to a 150w, and my brown birdsnest turned pink in two weeks.

It started growing too!

I have a 150watt MH setup that I put together about a year ago for my big fuge. I ran it for about two months and for my fuge (70 gallons) it just didn't work for me.

It's an ARO 150/175 MH electronic ballast with a 150watt 10k (if I remember correctly) with an outside (single) light hood/reflector. It was from a sodium vapor light. Here are the pics:
