Light wavelength and Polyp Extension.

I normally run a mix of daylight and actinic bulbs in my T5 light. The SPS looks good and I never really noticed much polyp extension on the Montipora Cap and Digatata. I had to replaced 1 white bulb with a actinic and the polyps are much more extended.

Is this extension good--do they like the actinic bulb?
Or is this bad
The coral has to extend it's polyps to get enough light.

I have heard both opinions. Your thoughts.
Thanks
Rick

I am of the belief that heterotrophic feeding drives polyp extension. Of course if the polyps are completely withdrawn I would guess that light levels are too high.

Did these differences coincide with a feeding event or change in diet?
