My experience with odyssea is that they are complete piles, but there was a lengthy review of the metal halide fixtures in the lighting forum soon after they were introduced.

I'm guessing you could buy diy parts and put a set-up together for alot less. Even finding a used ballast could cut the cost by hundreds

I used to have one of those, it almost burned down my house when the capacitor started on fire.
