Hey iam new to this salt water experience, but i have a 55G and i have about 65lbs of live rock along with coral some hard and soft.
I was wondering about lights, i have 1 T5 light and some shitty one with 2 flourecent bulbs, Will that do ? or should i buy another T5, i dont really want to buy another unless i have to because they are expensive. Also i was told by my LPS that i should put a timmer on the lights for every 6 hrs, is this a good thing to do ?

I guess this question depends highly on what you want to stock the tank with. I would opt for (at least) 4 T5s though, as only one light is about enough for mushrooms, fish and algae.

on a 55 a 4 bulb tek lighting system should do fine. thats what i run on my 55 gal, i have LPS,Softies, and some SPS.
