Lighthouse Controller - network setup problems...

Hi everybody,
I've got my new Lighthouse Controller all set up, except I'm having problems with getting the networking set up. I have gone through the manual completely, and followed the included instructions with no success.

The Lighthouse is plugged in to my Netgear WGR614 v4 Wireless Router (the controller is connected to the router by the Ethernet cable, not with a WAP). I have my IP address set up correctly on the controller. When I try to access the Lighthouse pages on the internet, nothing loads into my browser. I set up port forwarding which was mentioned in the instructions, but that either didn't work, or I didn't do it correctly (I'm not very experienced with networking). When I log into my router over the internet, the Lighthouse doesn't show up as an attached device. There is a green light on the controller next to the ethernet plug.

If anybody has any suggestions for me, I would really appreciate it. I'm not sure if this is user error, or if something may be wrong with the controller.

Thanks in advance,
Anna :)

P.S. I will definitely contact the manufacturer on Tuesday if I haven't managed to figure this out, but I'd like to get it running before then if possible!

Hi Anna,

The manufacturer of these units would be the best person to contact for the problem you're experiencing.

The contact phone number is (828)298-6561, and you will be speaking with Joe.

Please let me know if I can do anything else to help.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I've setup a couple of them...

You have to make sure you manually set it up in your router, at 192.168.0.250 (default IP on Lighthouse), which is outside the range of your DHCP server. I used wireless D-LINK DI-624 routers with both installations, and rather than going through all the crap to setup a specified port, I simply opted to use the "DMZ" port that most all routers have these days, and it was a breeze. Then to publish it to a website, it's a simple matter of adding your local internet IP to a Remote Management link within your routers portal {Tools Page on the DI-624}.
