hey all, setting up a 29 gallon mixed reef that is sps dominant, maybe a couple clams. I have a 150 watt PFO HQi mini pendant that I realy like and would like to use. However, i am not sure it will do the trick. I had a 50 gallon with a single mogule 250 over with no supplemental lighting and everything did really well. does anyone have any suggestions? anyone have a similar set-p they wouldn't mind sharing pics of?

I have a 29g mixed reef with mostly sps in the upper region .My tank has been up for about 8 months and ive been using a 250w M.H pendant installed into a DIY canopy i made w/ 2-4in fans. I also have 2-18w actinic pcs in it. Temp stays about 79-80 degrees. My zoos and xenia seem to like the lower region of the tank but still get alot of light. I would go with a 250w,the 150w might be a little under. If you give me an email i will email you some pics.I dont kno how to post on the site

i use a 150 and 2x24wat T5 actinics no problem

SPS growth is great, it all depends on the coral to tell you the truth
i have some that grow extremely fast, some grow extremely slow
though in the 2 month period ive had my clam its added a little over 1/4" of new shell
