Lighting a 36x15.5x30 tank

I am building a tank with rather odd dimensions. I only have 36" wide and 15.5 inch depth to work with. I want the largest (reasonable) tank to fit in this area so I decided to go with a 30" height.

Ideally I'd like 1 400w MH bulb over this tank, but I don't think it will cover the 36" well. A good reflector would be a must, but they tend to be deeper the 15.5" I have.

Another option would be 4 36" T5 VHOs, but a little worried about the penetration to the bottom.

Last option considering 2 250w metal halides.

I'm curious what others would do in this situation. I would like to keep things relatively simple and not use Halides with T5, but may end up doing this at some point anyway. I am planning a mixed reef with a few sps near the top and lps and softies spread throughout. Thanks

Thanks guys, I think I've decided on 2 x 250. I could always add 1 ho or vho later if I decied I want more blue.
