lighting a 5.5g

Im planning on starting a 5.5g later with some zoos
I was wondering if I can use this lighting in a canopy to light the tank
If yes how many bulbs would I need?
also where can I buy the sockets for these bulbs?

I light my 5.5 with 3*28 watt PC's..All 3 bulbs are 50/50's. They fit perfectly in a small canopy and completely cover the entire top of the aquarium..

20 watt Coralife self ballasted 50/50 screw in bulbs, you could fit two or three over a 5.5.


BTW,

i was reffereing to the 20w coralife screw bulbs

I have the Coralife 36W fixture over a 5 gal minibow and all shrooms, zoas and yellow leather seem very happy. Think I paid about $50 for it.

the coralife 36w might be good
but the coralife 20w mini screw in bulb is cheaper for 2 of those
im on a tight budget so just want to make sure i can get the cheapest lighting
the bulbs im talking about will allow me to keep palys right?

A standard socket works fine for the coralife bulbs. Before you build any type of hood get the bulbs first, they're pretty long.

Had I known Coralife had 20W screw in bulbs I would have gone that route instead of getting a 2X18 w fixture when I set up my 5.5 .

that fish place has the for sale around $10 a bulb
