Hey!
I'm letting go of my big aquarium. Too much noise, too much heat and the electricity bill is killing me since I went back to my studies. I've never really dealt with a reef tank smaller than 150 g and I've always used halides as the main source of light.
Now I'm thinking about setting up a tank that would be around 60 gallons and it's height would probably be 20-22 inches. I'm very interested in lighting the whole thing with T5's, which I've only used as blue lights so far. I'd like to still be able to keep some sps corals, even though they might grow slowly. I'd be using 39 watt tubes and would be going for a "blueish" look. Six tubes would fit fine, but eight could be a bit tricky, as there might be some overhang with fixtures I plan on using.
The problem isn't really the lights themselves, but fitting them over a small tank and of course the big, bad and horrible electric bill.
Thanks in advance for anyone who cares to help me out here!
