Lighting a standard 55 gallon

My boss has reef envy, I moved my little nano to the office and he's decided to get back into the hobby. He's had a FOWLR tank before but no reef experience. He found a fairly good deal on a 55 gallon tank and ran out to pick it up.

I've managed to answer most of his questions on equipment and setup but I'm at a loss when it comes to lighting. When I left the hobby years and years ago there wasn't a whole lot of options so it was pretty quick and easy to determine your lighting needs were. Fast forward to today and I'm overwhelmed with the options a bit.

a few details about what he's looking for:

No plans for SPS, just softies and LPS but he would like to get an anemone at some point.

He prefers LED - he fell in love with my AI Prime and wants the option to set up a schedule that ramps the intensity up and down.

From my 20 minutes of research I think a good idea would be 2 Kessil A160. any ideas or better suggestions? Hes not necessarily looking for the cheapest option and he is open to buying used.

Pair of AI Hydra 26's (with the new-style mounts) would work well (have similar layout to the Primes, but more powerful) and allow him to keep a light-hungry anemone, plus would have better spread than the Kessils...
