I want to get either a GBTA or RBTA and put it in my 75 gallon with 30 long sump. Right now i have a nova T5 fixture with 4 bulbs and it just has one big reflector. The question is....can i successfully keep a BTA in this tank?

I think that you should be able to keep one. 75's aren't deep tanks. I kept a BTA under pcs no problem, and some people I've heard have actually used regular florescent. Water quality is a bigger factor IMO. Make sure all your parameters are up to par. Then pick a healthy, non-bleached specimen. Local splits are always a good option.

Our BTA definitely roamed and found it's spot...unfortunately one of those times was to a ph. BUT, it moved around because my unestablished tank was appropriate housing.

all the one i have kept have been under metal halide but quite a few i know keep them under t5 without any problems.the 3 rbta i have are under a 250 halide but not directly underneath, they are situated about 2 ft away from it & seem quite happy with not a lot of light.derek

thanks. Other than color, are there any real differences between roses and green ones? I think i can get a green much cheaper, but like the rose colored ones more.

thanks for the info guys. from what i have read elsewhere, it seems like a lot of people feed theirs silversides.....how often should these guys be fed?
