Lighting and Coraline

Ok I think I get it .
In my 150 I have the Glo dual T-5 set up with a day light bulb and a Actinic blue. A dual t-12 one daly light and a 50/50. Is what have running now. Before I had 2 t-5 actinic blues and the 50/50 and daylight t-12. My take wasnt as bright I had more of a blue tone but that was fine with me I ran that set up for about 8 weeks. So this weekend petworld had t-5 actinic blues on sale so I grabed one and tried to put a new one in my glo system something didnt work only one would fire played with it for over and hr and said forget it. So I put the 10k original back in the glo system darn its bright but with the blue tone I noticed that my coralin was starting to flourish yay!! But with the 10k its too bright I noticed bleaching of my coralline my corals love it but coralline is being washed out, So while you can still get T-12's on this planet I order 2 actinic blue's to try and get more of a blue tone and see what happens. What are you all doing ? I noticed at my LFS that the dimmer blue tone tanks have coralline growing out of the tanks they have so much. And on the brighter tanks no coralline just alge and stuff on the rocks.

NO info out there has anyone else noticed this going on?

Dim blue light tanks coralline / Bright tanks no coralline?

Coraline can take a while to grow, especially with brighter lighting. In my current tank with my MH lighting it has taken a while to grow and I only see a few spots as of now. My previous tank with a 4 bulb HO t5 setup grew coraline like nobody's business. My rocks were saturated with it and there wasn't even a single speck of "rock" left. Coraline can bleach but it is usually associated with low calcium, lighting can effect this to some degree as well, but none that I have seen personally in my tanks.

I have noticed coraline growing on my base rock which was bone white when it went in 4 weeks ago, but now is speckled with coraline everywhere. lights are vertex illimuna 50%white and 60% blue and royal blue and i am supprised at how quickly things are moving along

I just went from 400w Radiums 20k's which grew Coraline real slow, to 400w Ushio 14k's.

Coraline has erupted in growth with MUCH brighter and higher PAR lights. Steady water chemistry is as important as lighting.
