Lighting and my 29

I'm really concerned about my lighting, and i am continuing to do research on my tank and its future inhabitants, (lighting requirements) I keep seeing things that i really like, but i don't fall for impulse purchases

I will be upgrading my lighting from
1- 24"CF (2) 55w bulbs (10,000k and Actinic) very old (i think it fueling algae growth)
1- 30" (2) 18w T-5 bulbs (10,000k, and Actinic) 1 month old

to 1- 30" CF (2) 65w 10,000k and Actinic with Lunar lights
and use it with my current T-5 bulbs

= 166w total of PC and T-5's
here's the fixture

I will be keeping Frogspawn, Hammer, Fiji yellow Leather, Toadstool, Xenia, zoa's, shrooms, bubble coral, candy cane and maybe a BTA


on Melves Reef, he has (3) 55w PC's on his old 29 and was able to keep an Anemone, Maxima, and Arcopa, various Softies etc.

Would I be able to do the same? I really want to be able to keep a Maxima

I have a 29 gallon that I keep sps, lps, softies and a clam among other things and I use 4 t5 24watt bulbs....no fan.....less than 100 watts. When it comes to t5 lighting wattage does not matter.

Here is what my tank looks like under T5 lighthing you decide.

so by me using 36w of T-5 and the Rest 130w PC do you think I would be ok?

I think you will be fine with that combination.
