I am looking to buy lights for my 90g AGA. I am thinking about getting MH just so I dont have to upgrade down the road and I want to be able to keep anything without worrying about lighting. I would also like some sort of stand or riser instead of hanging the MH from the ceiling. What do you guys recommend?

For halides I reccomend going with 2 250 watt halides with VHO actinic supplementation. since the tank is 49 inches long each VHO bulb will be 110 watts. This is the halide kit I have, I also have all the upgrades. Got a great deal and it cam put together, so you just plug it in and enjoy.

The 2 250 W sounds fine to me, and I like VHO actinics. The actinics are mostly for looks, though, and you can save some money by skipping them, if you like the looks of any MH bulbs.
A high-quality reflector is very important, IMO, so you should be careful in that regard.
I think a wooden canopy for the tank would hold the halides nicely. You might be able to make your own, if you have some basic woodworking skills.
