Hi all,
So I've got a tough decision to make. I currently have a shallow canopy on a standard 55 gallon with 4 24" 65w PC's. I've just recently started and only have a few LPS, but I'd like to eventually keep a few beginner SPS as well (and maybe an anenome). I plan to upgrade my lighting, but my options are limited by my canopy. It has two panels that open on the front half with a brace in between, so I can't use 48" lighting on the front or back without modification (would have to use 2 24").
1) Upgrade the back half of the tank (with slight modification) with a 2 bulb T5 retrofit and leave the front half PC's
2) Ditch the canopy and find a MH or T5 fixture with legs -- however, I am sumpless, so I worry about the visibility of my skimmer and AC 70 (don't want to lose the clean look)
Sorry for the long winded post.
Thoughts?
