ive never had a frag tank but wanted to start one. i was wondering what lighting would be needed for a 10 gallon tank? i will be keeping a lot of shrooms and zoas in the tank and a few types of cloves.

i was wondering if these would work for a standard 10 gallon hood.

To be honest IMO mh of any sort would be complete overkill on a 10g tank with anything lol, you would most likely be better served running a t5 fixture or even looking into making your own small led fixture, probably wouldn't take much in terms of led for a 10g tank

any suggestions on where to buy the led fixtures? never made my own lighting b4. links please if u can

I would make my own LED fixture. If it is just for a frag tank, you shouldn't need dimmable ballasts, because you won't need the sunset and sunrise effect. I would probably go with an Inventronics 700mA constant current driver. Run XP-G white LEDs (2 neutral white, and 1 cool white). For Blues, I would run 6 XT-E Royal Blue.

This would probably let you keep any corals you wanted as well. I'll be doing something similar to this on a frag tank in the not too distant future.
