I am gettting a used 180 soon and was wondering if a Current Nova Extreme Pro with 468 total watts T5 would let me keep anything I wanted. The other option is a used MH system with 3 150 watt bulbs and CF actinics. Wanting the T5 setup overall but did not want to be wishing for the other in a few months. Thanks

I don't think the halide/PC setup you listed is going to work as well as you hope on a 180g. I would prefer 250w and T5 or VHo actinics. On the other hand if you have the money for a new Nova setup you have a lot of options you could go with as far as halides go. The question is do you need a ready to use fixture, or can you retrofit into an existing canopy (and do you want to).

The used system I am getting does not have a hood, open top. Wanting T5 because of the color options I can have, and the heat issues I hear about with MH. But if the NOVA over a 180 wont work then I would do the Agualight system. I was wondering which would be the better of the 2 systems.

#1 USED Aqualight Pro HQI/Compact Fluorescent/Lunar Light Fixture, 3MH @ 150 each + the PC anctics for $750.

Or

#2 A new Current Nova Extreme Pro Saltwater T-5 Fixtures, all T5 for $584.
