would 96 watts of t5 lighting over a 20g aquarium b okay for a maxima, crocea (first chioce), derasa, or any other kind of clam. th clam would sit on the sand most likely, tho may be placed at the top of the tank on rock.

Most likely not. And not just for the lighting reasons. Most clams will outgrow 20g tank fairly soon if happy in the environment they are in.
