lighting for Colt Coral

I found mine hates to be right under halides but maybe over time it would acclimate ok. I keep mine low in the tank and away from the halides.

i've had a big one for about a week now. probably about 8" from the surface, and there is another 8" to a 250w 10k. took a day or two to adjust, but seems to be fine now

All my leathers are under 400W MH (10K) and doing just fine - full PE, puffed up, no bleaching or signs of distress. I brought home a HUGE colt the other day and it seems to be thriving under MH with lots of (random) flow. Leathers are pretty easy going corals - as long as they're acclimated to changes in lighting or water parameters, they'll thrive in all sorts of conditions.

I had one for a year directly under a 250w phoenix 14k and it grew like a weed. Hence the word had.
IME they can take anything from PC's to MH's. Very forgiving coral.
