Lighting for deep tank?

I have a problem with my tank overheating...however, it is a very deep tank (80 gal bow). Lighting Suggestions? I will be changing to FOWLR, and will coraline still grow with whatever suggested lights?

if you're going to be running FOWLR then pretty much any light will do. Also, coraline is a lowlight algae, so it doesn't need much light to grow, just keep your ca/alk in check it should grow just fine.

Thanks.. perhaps just Florescent 10k and Actinic? Didnt know that coraline would flourish under low light. or perhaps Flourish is a strong description....

What do you have for lighting now? Coraline will do fine in low light, as long as your alkalinty is good and your calcium levels are kept high (400-450ppm).

wow... I think you probably have another problem then since T5's are not very hot to begin with (as far as lighting goes). Do you have good air circulation in your canopy?

actually, pretty good air...2 fans on the canopy. I dont think its the motors in/near sump...maybe its the fact that the skimmer is IN the sump...probably not.
