Lighting for lords and micros

I will be plumbing two 5 gal 12x12x9 cubes off of my 120 fowlr for the sole purpose of acan lords and micros and I was thinking about getting the new viper 70w MH by jbj for each of these. Will these be good for excellent growth on the lps or too much?

I have a 12 gal. nano cube with 24 w flourescent and it is very well lit. An MH may be too much however at 70 w, you should be ok providing that you have a chiller on your main tank.
