Lighting for rics.

Right now I have my rics about halfway up the rock with moderate flow. I was wondering if I could move em to the sand with little flow.
My lighting is 96w t-5s 210k/2 460 nm actinics and about 18 inches from the lights to the sand.

Sounds good to me. I have my Yumas down about 20" under my 150W MHs (14K) and they're thriving.

Yea Id really like to get a few of those! Whats the average price range on yumas vs floridas?

I personally get my Yumas from a local importer for $20 per head, which I find really good. He doesn't get floridas so I usually just scan local board's classified and pick them off for $15-30 per. I think the standard LFS price range is anywhere between 30-50 per, with Yumas a little more expensive (and finicky... although not in my experience) than floridas.

can you have rics under power compacts?

They're not really demanding as far as lighting goes. Medium-Lower lighting and low (but present) flow does the trick for me.
