Lighting for sps?

I upgraded to a 125g tank, 6' and 24" deep. The current light is a 72" Current DE MH 3x150w with new Phoenix 14k bulbs on the way. The sand bed is exactly 25" from the light. I was just curious if i was limited to the sps I can have or is this a sufficient lighting setup to keep most sps? Any recommendations is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Matt

You will be able to keep most SPS in the upper half of the tank, although don't expect super-duper growth from them all.

Lower in the tank you should be able to keep most montipora species (digitata may prefer brighter light but the scrolling and encrusting species should be fine).

Lower, you should also be able to keep bird's nest, green hydnophora (branching/encrusting), cactus pavona, porites, and some others.

Most acropora and pocillopora will prefer the brighter light.... in my experience.

I personally wouldn't use less than 250 watt halide on that depth of tank for sps. just my personal opinion.

I have 3 250w MH and what you have is fine, you need to know the requirements of the sps's since all need different lighting so place them where they need to be.
