Lighting for stock stanks?

Hello,
I am curious as to what is necessary regarding lighting over broodstock tanks. I am in the process of putting together a plan for a LED build for my mixed reef display tank and am thinking about making some type of led bar for a future Clownfish set up that I am working on.
The Clownfish tanks will be fish only with a clay pot and I am assuming they will not need the lighting necessary on my reef tanks.

Basic lighting is sufficient. If it's visually bright, it's good enough. No need for coral growing intensity

Any light is sufficient, we have put cheap LED's from a home improvement store over the tank just because it was efficient and bright.
