lighting? help 134gallon

A few of the more appropriate fixtures that have enough power and an improved spectrum are the GHL Mitras, the Pac Sun's and ReefTech. You could also use AI Sol's, they will reach the depth, but because of the tight optics they will only adequately a 12x12 area, and it is one of the fixtures that more people are leaving due to the lack of spectrum and loss of coral color.

If it were me, I would pick up a couple LumenBrites or LumenMax Elite's and HQI ballasts and wait another year or so until the LED fixtures available are better. I plan on moving to LEDs at some point, but I don't believe now is the time. Keep in kind that what works on a shallow tank will jot work the same on a tall tank, and you have a tall tank.

I have a 24 in deep tank and get more then enougb light on the bottom and mine are nothing like whats out there now. There are engineering teams out there starting companies using this technology the big names right now arent necessarily the best ones. There is tons of dif ones out there y spend twice within two yrs plus the savings on electricity its a no brainer. They are proven to work now as well. Some of the best reef aquariums in the world are lite by LEDs. You need many sources of light to reach all the spectrums of the sun and LEDs are able to the closest many bulbs in one unit. Versitility!!!
