Lighting help

I have a 72" light w/3X250 DE MH and 4X96 PC.We just had a power outage that lasted only a second ot two.My PC's came right back on but the MH lights did not come back on.I tried unplugging the ballast from the timer and plugging it directly into the wall.They will still not come on.I have only had the light for a few months and this is the first time I have run into this problem.Does the system have to cool off before it will restart or what?

metal halides often have to cool before they will restart. If they wont restart after 30 mins i would say you have a problem.

you got it! It should come on after it cools down or when the ballast tries to restart, just give it some time.

I know, I am a slow typer, but anyway hopefully your light is fine sundance1 because you can grow anything you want under that thing!!!! That is aton of light for a 125.

lol,that's why i bought it! I LOVE clams and wanted to have a few,so now the hunt has started! I have nice crocea now that is thriving ans growing,now I want a nice Maxima!(or 2 or 3 or......)lol.Thanks everybody,the lights cam back on after the ballast cooled down.

metal halide ballasts have an safety shut off kinda thing... once the lamps cool down 5-15 mins depending they should fire back up. but unplug your ballast until the lamps are cool
