I posted a thread in the DIY section but checking if anyone local might be able to help.

I would like to convert the powercompact compartment in my metal halide pendant to leds.

I don't think I'd put the LED's inside with the MH bulb. Only due to heat issues.
But I don't see why you couldn't put them attached to the outside like the way that ReefBrite does on their hybrid fixtures.

I agree with u4ick on this one heat is the main cause of early failure on leds if you are only using them to supplement being on the outside of the fixture will be your best bet
