Moved On
I leave my house at 6am b4 I leave I turn on my lights and fans, and they dont usually get turned off until midnight, I guess thats about 18 hours, besides the algae and energy consumption, is there any other problem with this, I hope to get a timer soon

Corals and algae need a respiration period for optimal health, and 6 hours might not be enough. Why not get a timer? You can pick one up from WalMart for just a couple bucks.

about 10 hours. Vary's with light intensity, coral selection, algae growth....lot's of different variables. But about 10 seems to be the average I see more often than not.

Depends on the intensity of your lighting but a 10-12 hour photo period is most common. Just get a timer and have your lights go on/off on a set schedule every day. :)
