Lighting hoods/tops?

Ok this might be a dumb question but why doesn't there seem to be many lighting hood that would fit over a tank nicely? I understand you don't want glass as it would filter out light. I personally think a hood of some sort looks a lot better than lights hanging above the tank. I also know with certain lights comes a lot of heat which could heat the tank up but with LEDS is this still a problem?

The bigger manufacturers offer canopies for their tanks, and many have DIY's them. LED's have pretty much eliminated the transfer of heat from the lights to the tank, but they need cooling themselves to protect the diodes.

I'm in the planning stages for a canopy to match the stand I built several years ago. It will incorporate my LED lighting and cooling fans. I don't want to make the canopy light specific so that in the future I can easily upgrade to other fixtures if need be.
