lighting in canopy..how far from water?

ok all, i'm gonna make my canopy soon, and the lighting is gonna be fixted into the hood, which will be on hinges to open up, and the lighitng will come up w/it.

my question is...how far from the water should i have the lighting? (pc's by the way)

PCs can be like 2-3" from the surface of the water. You may want to put an acrylic shield on them for splashes.

I wouldn't put the lighting on the hood. Once you open the tank it is really hard to work in it. Your eyes get blinded by the PCs and your tank seems a lot darker and hard to see in...
