My first post in the large reef tank forum, pretty cool 
I recently purchased a 340g tank which I'll be setting up in the next few months... sometime. I'm trying to decide on lighting right now. The footprint of the tank is 80" x 33" and it's 30" tall. It's going to be a mixed reef, but mainly softies (and lots of fish).
I'm planning my energy consumption on a budget, so to speak. For lighting I need to stay under 4 kw hours per day on energy consumption.
I'm thinking about (2) 250w halides in Lumenarc's
and (2) 80w T5 OR (4) 39w T5. With a 10 hour photoperiod I'd end up with something like 3.5 kwh per day. The lighting schedule would be something like:
T5's on 2 hours
MH's on 6 hours
T5's on 2 hours
Looking for feedback. I'm open to other options within my energy budget. At this time I'm not ready to spend money on LED's so I'm steering clear of that for now. All feedback is appreciated
