Hey guys, I am going to be starting a Frag Tank Build soon but before this I would like to know about lighitng my Tank is going to be 36"X24"X12". I am thinking about LED's. Right now looking at the Apollo Reef Lighting since I have this over my 60G cube and it's lights up 24"X24"X24" really well... Just wondering if I should go with 2 units or 1 Maybe even teh Maxspec Razor 27" unit.... Any thoughts?

Thanks
Frankie

Thats around the price range I would like to spend, do you know if Jimmy's fixtures are controlable with Dust/Dawn feature? If so I might jump on these

I know that he has one that does it or other ones that have some cool features, but might cost more.. Give them a call....

Would this fixture grow all kinds of SPS of various colors in SPS dominated tank?

Thats the main question that everyone asks.. Some say yes with LEDS and some say No..

I will be trying soon for palys&zoas, softies and a few easy SPS.

But I have seen some tanks with LEDS and doing very good..

If going LEDS you must do a par reading to make sure you have the correct height or settings.. Most folks cook their corals without knowing their par readings..

I agree, most folks have been cooking these coral like crazy, I didn't have a Par meter so I just started off slow over the past 2 months. I started off with 40% blues and 10% whites and went up from there... Right now I have it running at 100% Blues and 60% whites and everything has been happy healthy and SPS are growing like no other.
