Lighting Question????

more as the salt collects on it. initially, Id guess not much (<10%). As salt (and or algae if its close to surface) collects.....it will approach 60% IMHO. Heat, however, will increas dramatically and immediately. count on as much as 4 degrees within the first 8 hours (for more than 100g). glass tops also inhibit O2 saturation, which can be bad for fish...especially bigger water column fish like tangs. hope that helps.

It depends on the quality/clarity/thickness of the glass. You'll lose a lot more in standard glass top than you will with starphire glass. I just wouldn't use one, but that's me.

IMO i wouldnt run a glass top, well not a full one anyway. i run at 3/4 glass top on my predatory tank but run lidless on my reef. if you are afraid of having a jumper just make sure you have moonlights on at night so if you do have active fish at night, they can kinda see whats goin on.

Make your own screen frame, but instead of using the mesh for the windows buy the stuff that you can use to cover berry bushes. The window mesh blocks too much light.
