I just bought a 125 gallon aquarium used locally. The guy bought the aquarium and the lighting but never finished getting the other supplies due to financial issues. The lighting fixture is a three ballast system with eight flourescents on the outside. In each ballast is one 150 watt metal halide lamp, three small LED lights, and three small lunar LED lights. Presently the flourescents are FHO 39W plant grow lights. Now to my questions. I plan on setting up a reef tank with probably soft corals, fish, live rock, and CUC only. Do I need to run the metal halide lamps at all? Should I replace the FHO 39 plant grows with different lights for the corals? Any advice on this lighting system is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
