Lighting Question???

I have two light fixtures that have 55w pc bulbs. I am looking for replacment bulbs as the bulbs i have are one year old now. I have found some pc bulbs that are listed as 12,000k 65w. my current bulbs are 10,000k 55w. Will the balasts work ok for the extra 10w and is 12,000k a better wave length than 10,000k??? Thanks...

My understanding is that the 55w/65w bulbs are the same with the only difference being what the ballast pushes out of them.
