lighting question

I have made my 10 gallon out of parts that came with a bigger tank that I was not going to use on the bigger tank. This is my practice confidence booster before I buy $$$$ worth of parts for the big tank.

10 gallon
seaclone with mj1200 295 gph
Karolia nano
aqua clear 10 gallon filter 100 gph (empty) this will be filled and used for biomedia for qt tank or occasional carbon

I believe I have plenty of flow now.

Hoowever lighting
lights from the big tank are single strip 36 in 30 watt lights

I only have one on the 10 gallon tank now but willing to put the second over it. Obviously they hang over dont look great but untill I do get something else. I am not the kind of person where everything has to be matchy matchy.

What if anything can I keep with just the one light?
what with both lights?

As far as fishes and clean up go I want
1 oscc clown
citron clown goby and/or yellow clown goby
emerald crab (slight bubble algea on live rock I bought)
shrimp (hubby wants peppermint)
snails... nass cerith astrea

mushrooms should be ok, and maybe, maybe, GSP, but most everything else will need more light. Sun corals are nocturnal and target fed, so those would be ok as far as light is concerned, but they are otherwise challenging to keep

Thank you. I will get a new light eventually I just wanted to see if I could make due a little longer.

I am loving this 10 gallon. next to my bed the noise puts me to sleep like a baby. Its empty right now and it is all I can do to pull myself away from it.

Sun Corals are also not for beginners...(no offense)...
you can also keep some leather corals....they do ok under that light.

yup, you've got it bad Wait 'till there's life in it For the corals you mentioned, power compacts or T5s would do you well. Surely someone has a fixture to fit a 10 gal.

BOR - I did say they were challenging to keep, but, you're right, probably shouldn't have brought them up - I was fixated [no pun] on the lighting issue.

This is one light I was looking at I just was not sure if it was enough. Glad it is. But again I dont plan on any corals at all for a couple months.

Other than the four corals I named there are not any I am intrested in. I love rics. Ultimate goal lots of them. Both hubby and i like the flowy nature of the other three. Maybe clove its flowy like that.

I hope to get my crab and snails next weekend or so. I am cycled and will do my first waterchange this weekend. Then after I am sure everything is good I will do a fish. Each step a confidence booster for the 125 sitting empty in my living room
