Lighting question

My lighting when t5 lit seems less colorful then when no lights or when MH are going. Am I using the right combination of lights.

I have a 2x2x6 foot tank. I am running 4 420 t5 on outside with reflectors and 4 460NM t5 inside of them. Total of 8 39W. I then have 2 250watt MH 14k. All powered by icecap 660 and 250W ballists. I have 3 1WATT blue for night-time.

I run outer t5 for 1 hour then turn on inner at same time until about 12:00pm then add MH for about 4 hours then MH off, then 1 later inners off then 1 hr later all off and 3 1Watts on then entire black about 3 hours later.

When the MH are running color is good, when no ligths color is good. When just the t5 a little dullness to the colors.


Any suggestions?

They make different colors for t5 bulbs... i think i had 4 x48 t5s and i had 2 true actinic, and actinic plus and a redish colored bulb. i dont remember what the name is of that red one but all of my colors popped!!!!
