Lighting question

I am considering getting a clam for my tank and just wonder about lighting. I have 30 gl tank that is about 18" deep. Would one of the Coralife 150 DE pendants be enough for a clam? Thanks

Different types of clams require different intensity lighting. But, I think your lighting will work fine.

Keep it as close to the water as you can safely do and you should be fine. If it`s a crocea you may have to think twice about it. It may be insufficient light.

On the other hand, in a 30 galons tank you may find it more difficult to keep water parameters stable for a clam.

Keep in mind that his fixture is double-ended, as well, and it's on a 30 gallon. I successfully kept a crocea under VHO, although I now have MH.

I kept two croceas, a maxima, a gigas and a squamosa on the bottom of my 30 gal under 175W 15K SE MH with absolutely no trouble. I tried to put one crocea and the maxima up higher, but they kept cliff diving. So I left them on the bottom on a flat rock. I recently moved them into my new 90 Gal.
