I have a Coralife Elite Series system over my tank. Two 10,000 K, 175 Watt MH's and two 96 watt actinic PC's. It has beeen up and running for about 4 months now, working perfectly on about a 12-14 hour a day cycle. Two days ago one of my MH bulbs started kicking off. it seems to come back on after it cools down. I switched the ballast around to see if that was the problem and the same bulb still powers down. The canopy fan is running and seems to be doing a good job of keeping excess heat down.
My question or questions are:
Could it be a faulty bulb ?
Could it be the mogul base ?
I know sometimes factory bulbs and ballast are not the best in the world, but seems it should have lasted longer than this without any problems. Anyone that has experienced this situation before, your advice and troubleshooting tips would be appreciated.
