i have a 37gl reef with 4small fish,and mostly mushrooms and zooanthids. are there set number of hours your tank lights should be on during a day.i have an ice cap 430 with 4/75wat vho's

You need to replicate the normal sun hours, for example my mh lamps are on for 6hrs and actinics 2hrs before and 1 hr after

Normal sun hours where, though? Most places in the tropics generally have sunlight for more than 9 hours. I'm certainly not saying you're wrong. I'm asking that more out of curiousity than anything else, especially since I've been running my lights for 12 hours each day. I'm guessing the corals don't mind, but hopefully I'm not keeping my fish up past their bedtimes.

Quick question do you run the MH and Actinics at the same time, and can you run the moon lights all night?

I run my MH for 10 hrs. My Actinics come on one hour prior and stay on one hour longer.

I do not run the actinics at the same time as the mh, they just get drowned out by them being also toward the blue end of the spectrum xm 15k

is it ok to have them on longer like 15 hours i have 2/75wat supper actinic and 2/75watt white actinic run from a 430 icecap thats it .
