Ok, so for the mean time while my fixtures down, i went ahead and picked up 2x250 watters with 20k's and... HOLY CRAP WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I guess Im just gonna go ahead and fix the switch and put it away. I been meaning to upgrade my lighting for some time now and what better timing. Looks like i wont be needing t5 supplements anymore. Colors are awesome. So bright though it started hurting my eyes after 15 minutes.
So now my next question...how should I light acclimate? My fixture was 2x150w halides and 4 39w t5's.
Previous schedule:
t5's on 2pm.
Halides on 3pm
Halides off 9pm
t5's off 10pm
Should I run Halides for 4 hours and add an hour every week? I would like to keep halides on for a max of 6 hours a day to keep electricity down.
Also, How high should i keep the lights? Tank is 36'' high. SPS are about 8'' from the top of the tank along with some zoa's and Clam is at the bottom with some lps and anemones in the middle.
Right now its just sitting on top of the tank until i can get a canopy built.
