Lighting schedule

What is the average amount of time per day to keep lights on in a 29g reef tank w/ LR and fish? Should the schedule follow the sunrise and sunset? Please give an example of the schedule you use. Thanks

My actinic lights go on at 10:30am to 9pm. The main lights (mh) go on at 11:30 am and stay on untill 8pm.

On my 29 the halide (( 250 watt DE, only light )) comes on at 1:30 and shuts off at 10:30.

For my other tanks --

58 -- PCs, 11:00 AM to Midnight Halide #1 2:00 - 10:00 Halide #2, 2:30 - 10:30

75 T5s 11:00 AM to Midnight Both Halides, 3:00 - 10:30.
